PURPLE – Pediatric Psychiatry Undergraduate Research Program and Learning Experience provides clinical research mentorship to undergraduate students with a focus on pediatric mental health. This popular program receives an average of 50-60 applicants. Those who are accepted are paired with faculty to work on a range of real-life clinical research projects. This year, six students were immersed in project topics such as:
- dental care for patients with autism;
- eating disorders;
- pregnancy-related depression;
- family’s influence on pediatric obesity.
