Silent Epidemic Solutions

Thomas Jensen, MD, is on a quest to develop methods of detecting and treating the most prevalent chronic liver disease in the United States — Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). This disease is soon expected to become the top reason for liver transplants in this country.

In partnership with Amanda Wieland, MD, Dr. Jensen launched the Multidisciplinary NAFLD Clinic that uses a team approach to combine their expertise with that of top experts across the campus in decreasing the disease’s burden on patients and the health care system.
